Dear Prime Time families,

The Office of Head Start recently notified Prime Time that it will transfer Head Start services in Ouachita Parish to a new provider at the end of the 2022-23 school year. We want to assure you that school will proceed as usual with Prime Time until the last scheduled day on May 25, 2023, and that Head Start services will continue in Ouachita Parish under the new provider.

During this time, we will be working to transfer services to the new provider, Innovative Network of Knowledge (INK). We are committed to doing our part to make this a smooth transition for our Prime Time families and will share any information and resources we have as they become available from INK. This will include a Release of Information form so that your child’s records can be transferred to INK.

We are proud of the work we have done on behalf of Ouachita families during the six years we have operated the Head Start program. Working together with you, our local community partners, and our dedicated staff, we have been able to provide four beautifully renovated school buildings, with safe and modern playgrounds; a team of highly-qualified and effective educators who surpass the national average on CLASS, which measures the effectiveness of teacher-student interactions; and school-readiness scores that show your Prime Time student will enter kindergarten prepared to succeed.

We will continue serving the residents of Ouachita Parish through our other programs, including our after-school Prime Time family engagement and literacy programs, and through Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities initiatives that support local libraries, museums, and other cultural institutions. We hope to see you at one of these events.

Thank you for allowing us to serve your family. Be on the lookout for further communication from your center, via Procare, and here on this website.
