Help Provide a Strong Foundation for Families in Your Community

When you host a Prime Time reading program you’re helping children build important early literacy and critical-thinking skills, while engaging families in your community. During a Prime Time program, a storyteller reads a children’s book and then families are guided through discussion to personally connect with literature through open-ended questioning. These programs model strategies for continued family bonding through literature and provide families critical information for continued reading.

Prime Time Family and Preschool Boxes are take-home versions of Prime Time reading programs. Each box contains books to build families’ home libraries, additional learning supplies, and a Grown-Up Guide for caregivers that provides support for discussion and activities to implement Prime Time’s humanities-centered methodology at home. Boxes are made available at no cost to partners and families and distributed twice a year.
